 Monthly Study Group
An informal study group meets monthly on various Saturdays at Bayland Community Center (BCC) in Bayland Park, Cabrera Farm Nursery (CFN) in Sugar Land, Timeless Trees Nursery (TTN), or Mercer Arboretum (MA). All are welcome to bring trees to work on or just watch for fun. Sessions start at 9:00 am and last until 1:00 pm.

Mentor Program
Bonsai can be a very fulfilling hobby. And it can also be very frustrating for new and seasoned students alike. Having someone more experienced can really help to take away some of that frustration and make it more enjoyable. In that vein HBS offers a Mentor Program which pairs up new members with more experienced members who can offer teaching and insight into bonsai in the Houston area. If you are interested in volunteering to be a mentor or would like to have a mentor work with you please contact an HBS Board Member by email.
Fall / Spring Show
The HBS holds two annual shows in the Spring and Fall in the Houston Garden Center in Hermann Park. Usually these shows occur in April and October of each year. There will be bonsai trees on exhibit, bonsaist to answer questions, visual presentations/slide shows and daily demonstrations. There will also be a number of bonsai venders offering pre bonsai trees for sale, finished bonsai trees, tools, wire, pots, etc..
